Amani National Congress (ANC) Party chief Musalia Mudavadi on Tuesday, February 13 outlawed meetings in his party but those authorized by new party Secretary General Barack Muluka.
This, according to the NASA co-principal was necessitated by unprincipled meetings organized in the name of the party when it wasn’t so.
In an internal memo; Mudavadi stated: “My attention has been drawn to mounting misconduct on the part of certain individuals within the party (who) have been going around the country and especially in Western Kenya and Nairobi, purporting to hold meetings in the name of the party and making resolutions in our name.”
The ANC leader ordered all meetings to be conducted in an orderly manner.
“For the avoidance of doubt, our secretary general is Barrack Muluka, who was duly appointed following the laid down procedures in the wake of the resignation of Godfrey Osotsi. As party leader, I take great exception to attempts to destabilise our party secretariat through sideshows and machinations,” Mudavadi’s said in a statement.
The latest move comes in the backdrop of an ANC part Women’s League meeting. In recent times, several ANC leaders have taken issue with the new secretary general Barack Muluka. The critics say Muluka is unfit to hold the ANC post.
