Activist and blogger Robert Alai has claimed that NASA principal Musalia Mudavadi was behind the plot that saw youths in Vihiga rough up and chase away Water CS Eugene Wamalwa from a cultural event.
Speaking on his Facebook page, Alai said that the ANC leader used proxies to launch the attack because he felt threatened by Wamalwa.
Alai said that in the battle for Luhya kingpin, Mudavadi felt that Wamalwa would dethrone his at the helm as the community's official leader.
"Musalia Mudavadi personally organised for the stoning of a Water CS Eugene Wamalwa in Mbale yesterday," he said.
"Mudavadi thought that Wamalwa will outshine him as the Luhya supremo. Mudavadi strongly believes that he will inherit NASA supporters from Raila for the 2022 race," he added.
On the said day, youths pelted stones at the CS and it took the efforts of Mudavadi and other leaders to hide him from the attackers.
