According to Senior Counsel Ahmednasir Abdullahi, the planned union between Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetang'ula will not deliver presidency to the 'Mulembe Nation' in 2022.

The top lawyer claimed the Western region had been rallying behind  Raila Odinga in the past elections since the luhya community would never support one of their own.

"A Luhya leader or voter will NEVER accept to follow or be led by another Luhya. Don't waste time on this (merger). BABA (Raila) owns Western Kenya!!! ANC, Ford Kenya merger runs into strong headwinds," Abdullahi tweeted on Sunday.

While replying to his fellow learned friend's comment, Nairobi lawyer Donald B. Kipkorir claimed Mudavadi and Wetang'ula ambition would not leave the kitchen as they won't get the backing from their region.

"On this we agree 100%....Luhyas will never be united...And above all, it is the only tribe that accepts bribes over one tribal unity," Kipkorir claimed.

However, contrary to the remarks, former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale over the weekend remained optimistic that the ANC, Ford-Kenya deal was about to be sealed and asked Deputy President William Ruto to work with the new outfit to boost his 2022 presidential bid.

"If you come to us as the presidential candidate of your single party, then rest assured that ANC and Ford-Kenya will merge into a single party," Khalwale said at Ikolomani Constituency.
