Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama’s claim that he can shift his political base to Nairobi and win is a far fetched dream.

When former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth joined the race to unseat Nairobi Governor Dr Evans Kidero, he was hit hard with foreigner tag, which will not be any different with Muthama’s case.

The senator’s move to throw stones at a house (Wiper) which he assisted in constructing was a grave mistake.

The lawmaker decision to support Cord leader Raila Amolo Odinga in the forthcoming general election will not keep him in the game for too long.

Things will become tougher on his part if Raila is floored by President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto.

It will be a daunting task for the senator to come back to the people and convince them to re-elect him in future.

There are many leaders who have died politically because of turning against their bosses. A good example is nominated MP Isaac Mwaura.

Budalang’i MP Ababu Namwamba is also not doing well after walking away from Raila.

As much as Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua has survived despite walking away from Kalonzo, it has not been easy on his part.
