The  political fall  of former Vice President (VP)  Kalonzo Musyoka is paving way for Governor Alfred Mutua to become  the next Kamba political kingpin, political analyst  Peter Ngure has said.

Ngure observes that Kalonzo’s dwindling political star is turning out to be a blessing to Governor Mutua who he says could be the next Kamba leader.

According to Ngure, Mutua’s close association with President Uhuru Kenyatta and his political networks will see him rise as the next  Kamba leader.

In an interview on Monday, Ngure said that NASA’s failure to win the 2017 presidential election was a big blow to Kalonzo’s political future.

He said that Kalonzo was depending on Raila to win for him to revive his political career.

“Kalonzo’s time as Kamba political leader is coming to an end soon and Governor Mutua is the likely next Kamba kingpin,” he said.

He observed that Mutua has played smart politics since 2013 overpowering Kalonzo Musyoka’s popularity in the Kamba land.

He said that Mutua is now being rated among possible people who could be approached by Deputy President William Ruto in his 2022 bid.

Ngure observes that though Mutua has declared interest in the presidential election in 2022, he could be approached for to be DP Ruto’s running mate.

Last week Mutua rubbished claims that he could deputize Ruto. The Machakos governor said that his bid for 2022 is unstoppable adding that his polices will se him elected.

Kalonzo has been the Kamba political leader for decades but his influence has gone down. A section of region politicians have been calling on him to leave NASA if he wants to revive his political fortunes.
