Machakos governor Dr. Alfred Mutua has remained firmly within the confines of his political ideologies.
Take it or leave it, Mutua has maintained that he will not sit back and watch his people suffer because of poverty. He has gone into the books of history as one of the best performing county bosses during his first term in office.
He has also started his second term with a bang. Mutua has recently hit headlines when he asked President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto to consider his party for top posts.
The governor’s style of politics is different from many leaders who go kneeling before the President to get favors.
"We've stood by President Uhuru since the campaigns period to now but we don't want to be taken for granted. We want our support to be acknowledged by action. We will ensure MCC members get their rights. We are going to put our foot down on this," said Mutua.
The governor has also affirmed that he will unite the Kamba nation to ensure that one of their own ascends to power. Indeed has he proven to be a true son of the soil.
