When Mutua walked away from Kalonzo no one ever thought that he will become a force to reckon with in national politics. The recent endorsement of Mutua to contest for Presidency has been a major boost for him as he seeks to rise to power.
Several politicians led by former Machakos Mayor Timothy Kilonzo has affirmed that they will rally the electorate behind Mutua because he is the best candidate to lead the community to power.
“As a community, we are tired of occupying position two in the leadership pecking order in previous governments. Mutua is our best bet for the presidency come 2022,” said Kilonzo.
The county boss will have an added advantage if he retains his seat and NASA loses to President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto. The governor has been lauded because of his exemplary performance scoreboard, which makes him easily marketable to the people of this nation.
On the other side, Kalonzo’s wiper has continued to lose leaders for the past four years.
Mutua, Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama and his Kitui Counterpart David Musila are among the candidates who have fallen out with Kalonzo.
