President Kenyatta had announced that lifestyle audit will be conducted on all public servants, including himself, as the government intensifies the war on graft.

Following the President’s announcement, Lilian said President Kenyatta has exactly done what her husband has been advocating for.

“Fantastic, Mr President! Exactly what our Governor @DrAlfredMutua has been calling for! Let every leader be accountable. Wananchi first!,” Lilian tweeted.

Mutua handed over crucial bank account details, records of his property and those of his relatives to officials of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) for an audit last week.

“No honest leader should be afraid of a lifestyle audit in the fight against corruption, public money has to be protected,” Mutua said.

President Kenyatta, said on Thursday during the official opening of Dongo Kundi bypass that all public servants will be asked to explain the source of their wealth adding that he will not hesitate to send Cabinet secretaries or governors found guilty of graft to jail.

“We will conduct lifestyle audit for all public servants beginning with myself as a step towards fighting corruption. You must be able to explain how you got your car, your house and land in comparison to what you earn,” Kenyatta said.
