Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya Tuesday appealed to county residents to vote for President Uhuru Kenyatta in the forthcoming August 8 elections.
According to Mvurya, the president has done much in addressing land problems as well as initiating development projects in the region.He at the same time accused the opposition of using the land issue as their campaign tool.The governor made the remarks when he accompanied Uhuru and his deputy, William Ruto in the issuance of land title deeds to residents.In his address, Uhuru urged residents to vote for Jubilee Party."This time we should walk together to end poverty and create jobs for youth," Uhuru said as quoted by the Nation.He said his administration has initiated projects such as roads, electricity and water besides issuing title deeds to residents.He reiterated Jubilee’s promise of implementing free secondary education beginning January 2018, added the daily."The work of parents now is to deliver and take care of the child," he noted.The President also said the Shimoni port should operate 24 hours, further directing the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) to ensure the order is implemented."We want this to be a major fishing port apart from just bringing in goods," added Uhuru.On his part, Ruto said Jubilee has built more roads in the county than any other government, thus asking residents to give them a second term.
