Nairobi has emerged the world's third-best destination on the rise this year.

According to the recent TripAdvisor’s top 10 award winners for the year 2018, Ishigaki Island in Japan emerged the top destination on the rise followed by Kapaa in Hawaii.

Nairobi came third.

Numbers four, five and six were taken by Halifax in Nova Scotia, Canada, Poland’s Gdansk and San Jose in Costa Rica.

Seventh was Latvia’s capital city Riga with Rovinj in Croatia, Spain’s Nerja and Morocco's Casablanca completing the list of top ten destinations.

Nairobi was also voted the safari capital of Africa and as a robust modern city serving as a fascinating introduction to both nightlife and wildlife.
