Education stakeholders woke up to news of a Nakuru school being shut down.
Ministry of Education said it has deregistered St Theresa Girls Senior School in Gilgil over examination malpractices.
The school, through a letter by Education PS Belio Kipsang, was ordered to surrender its registration certificate to the ministry with immediate effect
This writer followed up on the matter and established that the move was after the school’s principal reportedly opened examination materials before time last week.
The Ministry of Education took this as an attempt to leak the exam.
Other sources, who sought anonymity, said teachers have been coaching KCSE candidates at the school.
The exam irrregularities are said to have been committed between Thursday November 9 and Friday November 10.
