Turkana governor Josphat Nanok has challenged the locals to back opposition coalition NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga during the August polls.
Speaking in Lokichogio during a public rally, the Council of Governors noted that the community stands to gain a lot from the NASA government, hitting out at the Jubilee administration for neglecting the North Rift region.
He added that Mr Odinga had committed to ensure that the community benefits more from the oil exploration undertaken in the region.
The county voted overwhelmingly for the former Prime Minister during the 2013 general elections.
He will be giving a fourth stab at the presidency during the forthcoming general elections.
