NASA has cancelled its series of rallies that were scheduled for the North Rift this weekend.
This, the coalition says, is to allow residents to attend the burial of Nicholas Biwott and former TJRC chair Bethwel Kiplagat.
The rallies were scheduled to be held Friday and Sunday in Uasin Gishu, Nandi and Elgeyo Marakwet.
New dates will be communicated next week.
Kipkorir Menjo, a NASA regional coordinator, said that Kiplagat and Biwott “were prominent people in this region and there is no way we would have mobilised people to attend rallies alongside the burials”.
Biwott was on Thursday buried in Elgeyo Marakwet while Kiplagat will be laid to rest today Saturday in Mosoriot, Nandi county.
“We are now coordinating with the national secretariat in Nairobi so they can give us a fresh campaign programme for the region, most probably in the next one week,” Menjo said as quoted by the Star.
