The Supreme court on Friday morning nullified the presidential results and ordered for a fresh election to be held in 60days. Nasa leaders speaking after the ruling said that they no longer have Faith in IEBC and wanted a new electoral body to be put in place to conduct the forthcoming elections."We have no faith in the electoral commission as currently constituted. They have committed criminal acts; most of them actually belong to jail and, therefore, we shall ask for prosecution," Raila said shortly after the judgment. This request by NASA has very few chances to take place since the constitution of Kenya stipulates that a commissioner can be removed from office through death, resigination, end of serving term of a tribunal formed by the president. The mission by NASA will remain mission impossible since the IEBC chairman Mr Chebukati in his statement said he will not resign from office and he is ready to conduct a new election. After the court nullified the elections, Uhuru Kenyatta remains the president and it will be impossible for him to form a tribunal to to disband a commission that had declared him a winner earlier, hence this will give NASA a headache in sending the commission home.
