[Photo|Lee Kinyanjui]Lee Kinyanjui, the Nakuru County Governor, has dismissed any plans by the National Super Alliance (Nasa) to take over as Kenya's fifth government. In his message, the Jubilee governor argued how it would be difficult for Nasa to operate, in case it wins in the October 17 presidential poll, since it has the minority in government.Below is Lee's message, released Monday."Dear Countrymen, The effects of the Supreme Court ruling on 1st of September, will be remembered for many years both in Kenya and beyond. What started like a joke has quickly turned into reality- That Kenya will have to hold a repeat poll within sixty days. And as they say, it is better to accept and move on, and ask God to give us wisdom to accept things we cannot change and the courage to change what we can. That a poll will be held soon is a reality we must accept but crucially, is the role we can play to ensure a favourable and stable outcome for our Country. As it is, the key players in the repeat poll, will be NASA and Jubilee. We can safely bet on that. However, am concerned about the realistic prospects of the survival of a NASA victory. My hypothesis is that if in the unlikely event NASA were to win the Presidential vote in the next sixty days, it would be the most unstable government since independence. With a polarised Country and a minority in both National Assembly and Senate, it would be very unlikely any parliamentary approval such as budget, cabinet and critical legislative agenda would ever sail through the National Assembly or Senate.Indeed, such a Government would collapse even before take off. This would lead to uncertainty and apprehension throughout the entire period. Are we ready for That? I have tried to comprehend how a President would survive in a political environment where the Speaker, Majority Leader and all key committees of both Houses are in the hands of the opposition, but with little success. If we could only allow ourselves to get out of ethnic bigotry and face the facts, NASA cannot lead the country without the other political arms of government. A vote for NASA would plunge the Country to turmoil and chaos and this would precipitate another election within the first year. Are we ready for That? Let us take a moment and sober up. The decisions we take in the next few weeks, will be remembered many years to come. Choose Jubilee for stability."
