Opposition coalition NASA has stuck to its guns that fresh elections must be conducted within 90 days.

According to the outfit, the move will ensure that the country gets enough time to lay down frameworks for a free, fair and credible electoral process.

Speaking on Sunday in violence-hit Kawangware estate in Nairobi, Opposition chief Raila Odinga debunked claims by a section of Jubilee leaders that the country is tired with prolonged electoral cycle.

“Our position is to carry out a credible election in 90 days,” he said.

“They are saying that Kenyans are tired of electioneering but I am telling them that the country is tired of their prevarication, of their refusal to have a proper election," he added.

Electoral agency IEBC has since declared Uhuru Kenyatta president-elect in the just concluded repeat polls.

Uhuru garnered about 7.4 million of the votes cast.

Raila, who announced his withdrawal from the race trailed Uhuru in second place, with Thirdway Alliance Presidential candidate Ekuru Aukot emerging a distant third.

The former Prime Minister cited lack of electoral reforms within IEBC as reason for his withdrawal from the repeat elections.
