Deputy President William Ruto has said that the leaders of the National Super Alliance (NASA) are not ready to take part in the repeat Presidential elections because they have sensed defeat.
Speaking during an interview on K24, The deputy President exuded confidence that there is no way Raila, who is taking a fourth stab at the Presidency, will dethrone Uhuru from power when that time comes.
''The reason why the opposition does not want the elections is that they know they will not win,’’ he said, as quoted by Tuko.co.ke.
The DP also said that life will not come to an end if he does not retain his post after the elections. He revealed that he will go back to school to complete his PhD in the event that NASA takes over power, which he also said he doubts.
''If we are not re-elected in October, there's life after politics. I will go finish my PHD, do farming and other things,'' Ruto said.
Both President Uhuru and Raila has hit campaign trails seeking for support from Kenyans across the nation before the polls day. The rerun comes after Supreme Court nullified the presidential elections, citing illegalities and irregularities in the process.
