The talks on naming National Super Alliance (NASA) flag bearer and sharing power have stalled for weeks. The coastal retreat did not offer what opposition supporters wanted to force the principals to resume talks in the capital city. The four patrons Moses Wetangula, Musalia Mudavadi, Kalonzo Musyoka and Raila Odinga met for some hours in Upper Hill at Odinga’s Capital Hill offices without the National Co-ordinating Committee (NCC) members who had accompanied them. The members including Kakamega senator Bonny Khalwale and his Machakos counterpart Johson Muthama were locked out of the meeting.“We, members of the NCC, came in as supporters of political party leaders but they requested that we leave them to deliberate on the issues among themselves, so I do not know what they discussed,” said Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale as quoted by Nation. The coalition is yet to name its flag bearer and running mate. There is also an issue with accommodating the other principals who will miss on the two top slots. The arithmetic has been complicated further by the inclusion of Bomet Governor and Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) leader Isaac Ruto. They are yet to agree on his share if they win come August 8.
