The hotly contested General election that drew the world's attention is now over and gone.

However, it has left the country divided in two halves, Jubilee supporters on one side and NASA's on the other. The winner of the poll, President Uhuru Kenyatta, has a difficult task of reunifying the country and bringing the side that lost and feels disenfranchised by his victory on board. But, if history is anything to go by, NASA supporters' feeling may just but a fallacy. Actually, they could end up benefiting from UhuRuto's second administration than Jubilee supporters. It is just in 2015 when Uhuru received a severe backlash from his Central Kenya backyard when supporters accused him of taking government 'goodies' to opposition strongholds while leaving them unattended. This is not going to change. NASA's strongholds may enjoy more attention and 'presidential goodies' more than they can ever imagine. This is why.Uhuru's legacy. Uhuru will not be seeking re-election in 2022 due to constitutional two-term limits. It, therefore, means this is his second and final term. With this in mind, Uhuru will be working hard in the next five years trying to shape a memorable legacy. He doesn't want to leave State House with a shattered legacy. One way to ensure this doesn't happen, is to try as much as he can to address discontentment among opposition supporters. The other reason that will see more goodies going to opposition zones, is because Uhuru received a considerable support from opposition strongholds. This helped him to widen his lead against NASA's Raila Odinga as compared to 2013. So, as a gesture of thanksgiving, expect more goodies to fly in Nasa zones than it happened in the first term. And lastly, Uhuru would want his deputy William Ruto who is Jubilee's potential flag bearer in 2022, to have a safe landing in more opposition strongholds. Jubilee having won a sizeable number of elective seats in many Nasa strongholds in the just ended General election, the future can only be brighter for the party. Endless goodies will, therefore, be showered on NASA's strongholds with an aim of wooing more supporters.
