Kangundo Parliamentary aspirant Fabian Kyule, a lawyer, has said that Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua to concentrate on the politics of his county ahead of the August general polls.
Kyule, who has been vocal on matters affecting the common mwananchi said that Mutua needs the support of the local residents in order to retain his seat in the forthcoming general polls.
The aspirant argues that the county boss is not eyeing a national post in August, adding that it is wise for him to concentrate on this area.
“Governor Mutua is not seeking a national position and that is what he must understand. He should ask Machakos County residents to elect him and stop moving all over the country,” Mr Kyule said, as quoted by the Nation.
The remarks of the lawyer come a few days after Wiper Leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka-led party declared Former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti to contest for the governorship.
Wavinya Ndeti floored Machakos Deputy Governor Bernard Kiala to win the ticket for the contest. On his part, Kiala has been accusing Mutua of being a stumbling block when it comes to matters to do with devolutions.
“For four years, the governor has not been able to devolve powers to constituencies and villages because until today, the county does not have village managers neither does it have ward administrators,” he said.
