Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu could be the next Kamba political kingpin owing to her political experience and rising influence, political analyst Peter Ngure has said.
Ngure argues that Ngilu has established herself as among the few experienced and focused Kamba politicians.
He notes that Ngilu's election as Kitui governor and first female governor in Ukambani in last year's polls revived her chance of succeeding Wiper Party leader Kalonzo's Musyoka as the Kamba leader.
The analyst argues that Ngilu popularity has risen and is likely to rise more ahead of the 2022 general election.
"Ngilu is politically experienced and could be Kalonzo's possible successor as Kamba political kingpin," he said on Wednesday.
Ngure says that Ngilu is what Ukambani needs to make an impact on national politics.
The analyst says that with Kalonzo's political future uncertain, Ngilu could easily walk in his shoes and unite the Kamba community.
Kalonzo is the current Kamba kingpin but his future as the community leader hangs in the balance as he battles for political relevance.
The former Vice President has been in the political cold for the last six years and is likely to remain their heading to 2022.
Kalonzo has however declared an interest in the 2022 presidential election as he struggles to unite the Kamba community.
