Kitui Governor Charity Kaluki Ngilu’s minister swearing-in ceremony delayed for hours after lack of Bible. The governor’s Bible was later used to swear in the county executive officers after glaring omissions.
According to the Star, Catholic priest, Fr Richard Kyenza was forced to rush to Ngilu’s official car and picked her Bible for the function. Kitui resident magistrate Rose Ombata, who was officiating the ceremony, maintained that the ceremony could not continue after lacking the documents.

The county assembly speaker George Ndotto also attended the ceremony. The CECs are Philip Mumo (Trade and Cooperative), Eng. Jacob Mbukua Ngina (Health and Sanitation), Emmanuel Malii Kisangau (Water, Agriculture, and Livestock Development) and
The others are David Musyoki Kivoto (Education, ICT and Youth Development), Mary Ndunge Nguli (County Treasury), Patrick Koki Musau (Tourism, Sports, and Culture), and John Muneeni Makau (Environment and Natural Resources).
The governor reminded the ministers to deliver on their mandate diligently and without fear or favor.
