A Raila Odinga victory would see him revisiting historical land injustices as tabled in TJRC Report which has never been implemented, four years after its conclusion.

A battle has emerged between Jubilee and NASA with the former keen to implement the report while the latter claims that implementation would reignite tribal animosity in the country.

But should the report be implemented, it would see the family of founding president Jomo Kenyatta being dragged on land matters since it was adversely mentioned in the report.

Huge tracks of land in coastal region and some other parts of Kenya by President Uhuru Kenyatta’s family were questioned in the report, a reason why experts allege that it informed Uhuru’s decision tot to implement it.

In the recommendations, the experts concluded that victims should either be compensated or have their property retuned from oppressors unconditionally.

The topical land issue has dominated Odinga’s agenda in campaigns where he promises to ensure the report is fully implemented, a move that could lead to a battle of the might given prominent families are adversely mentioned.

In 2016, Uhuru donated hundreds of acres to squatters in Taita Taveta County a section of land believed to have been acquired by his father.

Senior Kenyatta disagreed with Raila Odinga’s father, Oginga Odinga on allocation of land few months after independence.

With Odinga keen to have locals get the allocation free of charge, Kenyatta prescribed some fee, a reason behind the two's acrimonious fallout.
