ODM leader wants Muslim community to reject President Uhuru Kenyatta’s leadership saying it has ‘discriminated and marginalized’ them beyond doubt.
The veteran politician faults President Uhuru Kenyatta’s policy of National Identification issuance and fight against terrorism which he adds that targets Muslims wrongly.
Odinga was speaking on Thursday when he toured North Eastern region during a voter registration campaign.
“You have a reason to vote this Jubilee government out of power. It has not only discriminated you but also marginalized this region,” he said.
Odinga added: “Youths from this region are subjected to rigorous vetting when applying for ID cards yet they are Kenyans. Security agents treat all Muslims as terrorism suspects.”
He also questioned the government’s efforts to mitigate drought in the region which has reportedly led to loss of livestock and human lives.
