Sirisia MP Major (Rtd) John Waluke insists that opposition leader Raila Odinga should retire from active politics due to ‘bad omen’ over his past.
In his fourth attempt to be president, Odinga was yet again subjected to crying foul after disputing the outcome of presidential results.
On Wednesday during the memorial of former Vice President Michael Wamalwa, Waluke linked Odinga to 1982 failed coup.
“It is simple and you must all know that the military cannot allow Odinga to be president. We all know that he is directly linked to a coup,” he said.
Waluke further said:”We cannot allow someone who instigated a coup to be the Commander in Chief and that is basic knowledge in disciplined forces.”
In many of his memoirs, Odinga has persistently maintained his innocence in the coup that left several soldiers dead.
Retired President Daniel Moi’s tenure survived when a contingent of Kenya Air force team waged a coup that would later be dismantled by their counterparts from Kenya Army.
