Opposition leader Raila Odinga's 'reconciliation' message hints a possible exit from political scene, says Prof Abaya Ondigi.

At Okoa Kenya on Tuesday, Odinga said he was open to dialogue over electoral justice adding that he keen to initiate civil disobedience against the government.

But Ondigi says Odinga may have miscalculated by bowing out of the race, a reason that could force him to embark on national cohesion mission.

"He regrets bowing out of the race and against the wishes of his supporters, he wants dialogue with the government.

"I am seeing a scenario where he will reach government for national cohesion and subsequent departure from the political scene. He just wants to leave a good legacy and that was a strong way of hinting a possible retirement," he says.

During a rally at Kawangware over the weekend however, Odinga ruled out possibilities of exiting political scene through 'coercion' by Jubilee leadership.

Understandably, 2017 elections would be his last attempt on the presidency and he had promised to save as a transitional presidency until 2022 should he have been declared  winner.
