Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho has expressed his willingness and readiness to host NASA leader Raila Odinga's swearing-in ceremony slated for December 12.

The county boss who is also Odinga's Orange Party Deputy Leader is among the 9 county chiefs who have since approved a request by the committee spearheading the event, expressing their counties' willingness to hold the controversial event.

''Nine Governors have approved NASA's request to offer a venue for Raila Odinga's swearing in, among them His Excellency Hassan Ali Joho,'' he said in a tweet Friday.

This however comes at a time when the alliance leadership is under pressure to drop the plans from both within and the international community.

Speaking in a press conference Thursday, Attorney General pointed out that the inauguration, if executed, will amount to high treason whose punishment is death.

Western governments have also weighed in on the matter urging Odinga to instead engage President Uhuru Kenyatta in pursuit of a better and more effective solution.

The alliance has however remained defiant standing its ground saying that it is operating within the law.

In a press conference Friday, through ODM Executive Director Oduor Ong'wen, NASA said that everything is set in preparation for the big day.

''What we are simply saying is that come Tuesday, many activities will be happening. We shall have motions to deliberate on. The swearing-in of leaders is among the many activities that will take place,'' said Ong'wen.
