The Orange Democratic Movement Party National Chair John Mbadi has been ordered by Homa Bay police to record a statement with the police within 24- hours following chaos and violence that rocked his political rally on Monday.

The Suba MP allegedly defied similar orders issued by Suna OCPD.

According to County police commander John Omusanga, the legislator will be held accountable for the violence that left to supporters with serious injuries.

"The OCPD told Mbadi to record a statement on Monday evening. He has not done so until now," Omusanga said.

He further warned politicians against engaging in violence during and after the ongoing party primaries.

"We are not going to tolerate any politician who perpetrates violence in the county. Let him (Mbadi) record a statement with police before Thursday midday," he noted.

The MP has since rubbished claims that his rally was marred by violence.

"I addressed my rally very peacefully. If some youths engaged in a fight, they did so over their own issues," he said.
