The Alego Usonga Member of Parliament Hon. Samuel Atandi now wants the current National assembly disbanded and new election held to elect a parliament that is able to work for the people.
Speaking to Hot 96 FM, the lawmaker said that the parliament has become a place where people just go and sit without considering the welfare of the Kenyan citizens.
He also added that the legislators have neglected their duties and made the National Assembly a market.
“The parliament has become a house full of people you just enter and sit without considering the welfare of the citizens. The MPs does not read or write laws and the parliament is now like a market. We need an effective parliament that is able to work for the people. We need MPs who are firm who can think and talk their minds and who can stand for the people,” said the MP.
The opposition MP also said that their Jubilee counterparts are many and their work is just to vote and cannot debate effectively.
“The Jubilee MPs are many and their work is just to vote and cannot hold a debate. Parliament should be disbanded and new election should happen,” concluded Hon. Atandi.
