Siaya Senator James Orengo has revealed that the Opposition is contemplating moving to court to dispute President Uhuru Kenyatta's fitness to seek re-election, following former TNA secretary general Onyango Oloo's claims that Jubilee won the 2013 polls unscrupulously.
Orengo, however, noted that that was not possible under the current laws to remove the Jubilee Party from government, adding that the Opposition could seek the intervention of other government investigative agencies for a legal action against Uhuru, the Standard has reported.
He added that they are reviewing Oloo's claims against the evidence rejected by the Supreme Court during the unsuccessful 2013 presidential petition.
“We are reflecting and reviewing what we have so far so as to see if we can make legal appeals on the basis of electoral fraud and misconduct,” said Orengo Speaking on Sunday.
But the Jubilee Party through Nominated MP Johnson Sakaja has since rubbished Oloo's claims, observing that Uhuru won the 2013 polls transparently.
Sakaja further added that the Supreme Court in 2013 had established President Uhuru's legitimate presidential election win.
