Addressing Thika residents after officially opening the Volkswagen production line on Wednesday, Uhuru said the opposition has got no other agenda apart from trading insults.

“Our colleagues lack constructive agenda that can take the nation forward. They are only good at hurling insults," he said.

The President added: "You saw and heard them abuse me. The kind of madness you saw them exhibit will be their undoing in next year’s national polls."

Uhuru was referring to the incident at parliament when Mbita MP Millie Odhiambo launched a verbal attack on him, saying he is a 'fake' President.

He said his Jubilee administration will ignore the insults as it is focused in developing the country.

"Our aim is to promote peace and unity. We have absolutely no reason to trade barbs with those who have no agenda for the country," said Uhuru to the applause by Thika residents, who had gathered by the roadside to listen to his address.
