Problem-solving involves critical thinking. But sometimes we just fly too far off. I don't think challenges ever have or ever will be extinct. If problems are part of our lives, then overthinking and letting them conquer us makes them boss.

The first thing is to identify what the precise problem is. Clarity of what you're dealing with is important. It protects you from thinking about matters that do not relate to the problem.

The next step is trying to find a solution. This is the part where you start to think of what to do about it. You weigh whether you have enough means and resources to solve the problem.

After creating a strategy that works, exercise it. Make a move. Meet who you need to meet, make the relevant calls and address it as planned.

Things can go wrong or right. If you solve the problem, great then it's easy to let go. It's the persistence of the problem that gets us overthinking. If you did all you could, find a way to let it not cloud your mind.

Find an escapism to refresh your mind. Get back and look at the problem anew.
