Businesswoman, Esther Passaris has declared her interest in the Nairobi gubernatorial seat come 2017.
She has clearly indicated that those in office currently have failed to deliver and thus the incumbent Nairobi governor, Evans Kidero should not be re-elected come 2017.
However, Passaris is quick to judge Kidero but forgets the heat already brewing in the race to clinch the gubernatorial seat come 2017.
Currently, the seat is being sort after by a host of politicians. Evans Kidero leads the race as Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko, Dagoretti South MP Dennis Waweru and TNA chairperson Johnson Sakaja poses as the main rivals for Kidero come 2017. the others in the race include Water CS Eugene Wamalwa and Bishop Margaret Wanjiru.
In the 2013 polls, Passaris failed to beat the current Nairobi County women rep, Rachel Shebesh and this is a clear indicator that she will not pose a single threat come 2017.
Passaris has been quiet and has waited too long to express her wish to vie for the County's top job. Other contestants have been involved in various development activities and have a better CV that they can use to woo voters. The businesswoman also has not indicated the party she is going to use come 2017.
As it currently seats, Cord and Jubilee party pose as the main parties to promote one of the hopefuls come 2017 elections.
In Cord, Kidero seems to have cemented his position and will clinch the party ticket in the forthcoming party nominations. In Jubilee party, there is a host of hopefuls who want to fly the party's flag in 2017. This only means Passaris will miss out on the two top notch parties that may have given her a lifeline in the Nairobi gubernatorial race in 2017.
Currently, the businesswoman poses a tiny threat to the other contestants in the Nairobi's most desired seat and she should maybe consider backing someone for the job.
