KFCB CEO Dr Ezekiel Mutua has left a message following criticism he gets from Kenyans on social media over his role.
Below is the message shared Wednesday.
"A lot of people make negative comments about me because they confuse my loyalty to the Government and commitment to my duties with sycophancy.
Yet, I have never been a beneficiary of any political appointment all my life. All the positions I have held in Government, from Director of Information and Public Communications (2007-2011) to Secretary of Information (2011 - 2015) to my current job as CEO of the Kenya Film Classification Board, have been on merit following a competitive process advertised in the national newspapers.
My decisions, loyalty and commitment are purely based on my firm belief that it's people at my level who contribute to the the failure or success of the Government in it's quest to deliver service to wananchi.
We all can't be PSs or CSs and we all don't need to hold political offices to serve our country. I am committed to make a difference. I pledge to serve with humility, dedication and fairness to make Kenya a better place.
I will pray and serve this country as if I am the one who took that Oath of office yesterday. So help me God!"
