Murder charges aginst former news anchor Louis Otieno have been dropped.
Otieno was among prime suspects in the murder of Karen Chepchumba, a Kenya power employee.
Chepchumba was found dead in her KIlimani apartment in February 2012.
Senior Sergeant Maobe an investigator in the case said that evidence from witnesses could not link Otieno to the death of Chepchumba.
The deceased father, Hosea KIli has been on the record stating that Otieno killed her daughter since the two were believed to be in a relationship.
Kili claimed that the former KTN news anchor extorted money from her daughter to sustain his lavish life.
Government chemist analyst Anne Wangechi said that it was established that nail clippers initially said to belong to Otieno were Chepchumba's and that it was a case of mislabeling.
She also blamed understaffing and lack of the required chemicals in the government chemist for the delayed results.
