The police are still guarding Real Househelps of Kawangware actor, at Kenyatta National Hospital, who they shot in the leg in Roysambu. He was found in the middle of a fracas between the police and a matatu believed to be transporting robbers.
This has caused uproar from various entertainment entities and the Meru Arts and Talents Association is demanding explanation from the police.
Babu Owino Mutuma was shot and according to his friend Wycliffe Muthomi, the actor is handcuffed to his hospital bed under tight security.
“They claim Mutuma is an armed robber and have heaped 7 counts against him including robbery with violence. Mutuma’s leg has been amputated and he is not a robber as the police claim. Cameras and colleagues at Royal Media can attest to this,” Muthomi said as quoted by Tuko.
Tuko reports that his leg has been amputated after the shooting. This has made Muthomi to demand the police to release footage of Mutuma’s movements as well as that of the matatu.
“Mutuma’s movements can be tracked, and so can that of the matatu. We are calling upon friends of Mutuma’s, all creatives, musicians, lovers of art and activists to come up and support Mutuma in his time of need,” said Muthomi.
