Machakos county Governor Alfred Mutua has revealed why a number of high-profile politicians have been ditching their parties for his Maendeleo Chap Chap (MCC) outfit.
The Governor spoke on Wednesday in a live interview on national TV.
Mutua said his party is fair and anchors on democracy that is why many are subscribing to it.
"The defectors are joining us because they have realised it's a better party in terms of fairness and democracy," said Mutua.
In the recent months, high-profile politicians mostly from the Jubilee party have been ditching their camp for MCC, most notably is Embu Senator Lenny Kivuti and President Uhuru Kenyatta's adviser on education Kilemi Mwiria.
Mutua also dismissed critics who have been alleging that he runs a briefcase party without concrete membership and location.
