Lawyer Nelson Havi says United States president Donald Trump should re-examine his role in promotion of good governance following nullification of Uhuru Kenyatta’s victory.

In a third unique case around the world, Kenya’s Supreme Court declared victory of a sitting president null and void, a decision that shocked many.

And the decision by US to congratulate Uhuru despite grievances by opposition leader Raila Odinga may make Trump to regret his ‘speedy’ actions.

“Here is an election result declared and one party is aggrieved. They follow the constitution and file a petition but the world super power congratulates the winner.

“Nullification was a blow to Trump and his embassy in Kenya and importantly, a vindication to Raila Odinga. He should learn to be slow on certain complicated issues,” he says.

US embassy through Robert Godec congratulated Uhuru and even showed up when IEBC was about to declare results at Bomas despite opposition’s grievances.

A New York Times reporter Helen Epstein in a detailed article this week seems to be crtizing her own government for ‘endorsing’ electoral fraud in Kenya.
