Harambee Stars head coach Paul Put has expressed reservations over his side's ability after the team survived a first-half scare to beat Burundi 1-0 in extra time on Thursday, at the Moi Stadium in Kisumu, to secure a finals spot at the Cecafa senior challenge tournament.

Kenya was subjected to a harrowing first half period by a Burundian side that threatened to score from time to time and the Belgian was left fuming over the situation.

"I was very disappointed with our performance in the first half. We started slowly but came back in the second half. We were very lucky not to have conceded a goal in the first half." Put said in his post-match interview in Kisumu.

"I was surprised that we found ourselves in this situation with all the quality we have. I was disappointed but I must admit that Burundi is a good side," he added.

The Central Africans will have themselves to blame after squandering numerous chances as a 95th strike by Whyvonne Isuza came to haunt them.

Stars are now awaiting the winner between Uganda Cranes and Zanzibar to know their opponents for the finals to be staged at the Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos this Sunday.
