The opposition has planned several rallies as they psych up their supporters ahead of Raila’s swearing-in at the end of January. Garissa is one of the destinations that Raila Odinga will go to before his big day.
Despite having an area MP from Jubilee who is also the Majority Leader in the National Assembly, Aden Duale, Raila still considers Garissa as an opposition stronghold.
After analyzing several political events including the attendance of national holidays last year after the disputed August 8 polls, Odinga feels that North Eastern backs his push for what he calls electoral justice. He included this region among other NASA strongholds that will be a springboard to his inauguration.
“This Sunday, we head to Western Kenya to continue with a people-driven initiative to ensure electoral justice and self-determination in our country. The details of the program and nature of events to be held in Kakamega will be disclosed by the NASA leadership in Western Kenya,” read NASA statement.
After touring, Kakamega and Busia counties, NASA will visit Migori, Narok, Kisii, Garissa and Mombasa counties.
