Like any other politician could do, Raila uses his speeches and actions to get supporters to his side; a common practice in Kenya that hinders maturity of politics.

Raila will forever be remembered for his political stands and decisions to confront the government, including previous regimes on a variety of issues.

Although this is a plus to him in a way, it also hinders his race to State House, a contests he has been participate thrice.

If Raila vied for the presidency today, and there is a likelihood he might be on the ballot in 2017, he will lose due to a number of factors.

He has been in the front line after every election claiming the exercise was not free and fair.  By saying so, his supporters know that Raila is confident he will lose and so they will lose hope in him as well.

There is an issue on who will be Cord's next flag bearer now that Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula has also declared his presidential bid.

If the Cord co-principals fail to agree on who will lead to coalition into the 2017 elections, then Raila cannot be president since he needs support from a number of regions apart from his backyard, Luo Nyanza.

Some of Raila's allies have also started ditching him before the elections for Jubilee.

They include MPs Richard Onyonka of Kitutu Chache and his Mwingi Central counterpart Joe Muthambu among others who have disagreed with Raila on the anti-IEBC demonstrations and a number of issues including visiting the president and his deputy regarding matters development .

Raila, as the opposition leader, seems to misuse his title by failing to agree with the government even on a single issue. Being the opposition leader does not necessarily mean opposing anything to do with the  government.

Lastly, his plans for the disbandment of the  IEBC have caused deaths which many directly not work well for him. I am greatly convinced that if Raila will not work on these main issues, he will lose if he vies for the presidency.
