Former prime minister Raila Amolo Odinga and his running mate is becoming more popular in the Rift Valley as we head to the next general elections as latest Ipsos opinion poll.

The NASA presidential candidate is regaining foothold of the region that overwhelmingly votes for him when he contested for Presidency against former president  Mwai Kibaki during the last general election. According to political analysts there are different things that have led to the loss of support by President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto as we head to the next General polls.

First and foremost, the poor state of agriculture in the region is among the reasons a section of residents are reconsidering whether they will back Raila or Uhuru. Residents of this region have continued to lament about agricultural related problems and the current government is doing little to save the situation.

Food insecurity is another reason that has led to the weakening of Ruto’s support in the Rift Valley. The lack of food t is likely to influence the outcome of the August general elections.

Thirdly, the high cost of living has also dealt the current government a major blow as we look forward to the next  presidential elections.

Fourthly, the unfulfilled promises will also change the outcome of Presidential votes in the two regions. There are a number of promises Jubilee made but they are still unfulfilled.

ifth, the decision of Bomet Governor Isaac Rutto  to support NASA candidate has also changed the  region’s politics ahead of August.
