Opposition chief Raila Odinga is expected to give a keynote address at the conference in Kakamega the talk will be about good governance and transparency.
However, before making the keynote speech, Odinga was praised by all the speakers from Nandi county governor Stephen Sang, Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa, Senate speaker Kenneth Lusaka and Senator Sam Ongeri.
Most of the speakers celebrated Odinga over the famous handshake he had with President Uhuru Kenyatta and herald the gesture as a move that goes a long way in ensuring that different arms of government, especially from the opposition, are now working as a unit.
Wamalwa even joked how the Raila-Uhuru handshake has quelled the bad blood between Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and former Mombasa county co-ordinator now in devolution docket Mr Nelson Marwa.
"You always give a good advice and we are here to get more. Your handshake has led to Duale and Maalim greeting each other and myself I had a handshake with my nemesis the CS Mr John Munyes," said Turkana governor Josphat Nanok.
After his keynote speech, Odinga was awarded the African horn which is used to welcome wanainchi for participatory dialogue, he received it for his famous handshake as he now referred to as the father of handshakes.
Early im March Odinga shook hands with President Uhuru Kenyatta at the Harambee house.
