Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has said that National Super Alliance (NASA) Presidential candidate, Raila Amolo Odinga dropped from the presidential rerun in October because he wanted to create a constitutional crisis.

Speaking to the press in Machakos town, Mutua, who defended his post on Maendeleo Chap Chap Movement, said that Raila wanted to use unconstitutional means to ascend to power.

"NASA wanted to create a constitutional crisis and that is why Raila Odinga withdrew from the repeat poll but their mission failed miserably with the re-election of Uhuru Kenyatta,” he said.

The county boss also asked the residents from this backyard to ignore Raila’s call for resistance saying that the move will hurt the economy of this nation.

The remarks of the Governor come at a time when leaders of the opposition have vowed not to back down in the fight to change the leadership of this nation. The politicians have been accusing the Jubilee regime of failing to deliver on the promises made before the August poll.

The leaders have threatened to swear in Raila, a former Prime Minister, if President Uhuru Kenyatta is sworn to continue with the governance of the country.
