Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (Cord) leader Raila Odinga’s walk to State House has been marred with all sorts of challenges.
The former prime minister has been known to attack each and every institution in the country when the year of election comes. How does Raila expect the same institutions to trust him when he becomes President? Will he disband all of them including the IEBC that will announce his victory?
In 2007, he came out claiming that the ruling government wanted to rig him out of the Lang’ata parliamentary race using Administration officers. A few weeks ago, the opposition alleged that retired District commissioners, Kenya Defense Forces and National Intelligence Service (NIS) are being used to hatch a plot to ensure that President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto retain their seats during the upcoming general polls.
In 2013, he also alleged that senior civil servants were being used to steal MPs from his side. He also said that same this time around after alleging that Jubilee leaders are hovering with moneybags.
Before the last general elections, Raila termed the Kenyan court system as Korti bandia. In the event that he does not attain the 50+ plus requirement will he seek for justice from Korti bandia again?
Reports from the IEBC indicate that the former Prime minister’s strongholds are yet to register as voters. With this low turn, it will be hard for Raila to rise to power.
