I have warned severally that Raila Odinga risks soiling his name and legacy if he fails to read the signs on the wall and understand that it is time to call it quits and rest in his Bondo home.
Yet sadly, Raila seems not to listen to this inner voice which calls for his retirement from the murky world of politics.
It would have been befitting for him to understand that the time to hand over the baton of struggle is now. He has fought a good fight.
His continued stay in the political arena will convert him into the proverbial monkey in the market. We are told by our forefathers that when you go to a market and find two traders, one selling a goat and the other a monkey, who would attract a larger crowd? The answer is definitely the one selling a monkey!
Raila must safeguard his legacy. He should understand that it is pointless for people to die in his name. The many people who have died as they fight for him are enough. There should be no more bloodshed in our land in the name of power.
We appeal to baba to stand down and create ceasefire. Let our children love. Let our young men enjoy live too.
