Opposition Leader Raila Odinga left the country for South Africa to visit his hospitalised daughter, Rosemary. 

He left the country shortly after 7am Friday, aboard a Kenya Airways flight to Johannesburg. 

His communication director Denis Onyango said Odinga would be out of the country for slightly over a week. 

“Over the weekend, Odinga will travel to the USA from South Africa for a number of engagements,” he said in a statement. 

Rosemary was flown to South Africa for further treatment after suffering from meningioma - a brain tumor that is non-cancerous.
