This is if parliament approves a petition by Mohammed Sheikh which seeks to bar people beyond 70 years from seeking the presidency.

Raila will be 77 years old in 2022 and hence way beyond the age limit by Sheikh's petition.

Parliament has admitted the petition and Sheikh will appear before the National assembly committee on legal affairs.

The committee will go through the petition before tabling it on the floor of the house for debate or throwing it out.
