Former Mwingi Central MP Joe Mutambu has asked the Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka to stop dreaming that Raila Odinga will support him in 2022.
Mutambu argues that Raila has made up his mind not to support Kalonzo in 2022.
Speaking to journalists in Kitui town on Tuesday, Mutambu said Kalonzo is wasting time clinging on the NASA leader.
The former MP who ditched Kalonzo's party for President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee before losing in last year’s polls said Raila has moved on and will contest on his ODM party in 2022.
“Kalonzo should read the atmosphere around him and get alive to the fact that the MoU he signed with Raila in 2017 was a waste of time,” Mutambu said.
Mutambu wondered why the former Vice President is clinging on Raila despite being openly rejected by some ODM politicians.
The former MP urged Kalonzo to ditch the NASA coalition that he said is on its deathbed.
Mutambu said Kalonzo's stay in the Raila led coalition is betrayal to the Kamba community.
Kalonzo is under pressure to quit NASA even as claims of cracks in the coalition continue to emerge.
The Wiper leader has been under criticism and attacks for skipping Raila’s inauguration as the peoples; president on January 30.
Kalonzo, however, maintains that he is in NASA to stay, rubbishing claims of cracks in the coalition.
On Saturday, Raila was quoted saying that some people in the coalition are about to betray him.
The former prime Minister said that he can smell betrayal urging his supporters to brace up for tough times ahead in the fight for electoral reforms.
Kalonzo’s party meets next week to discuss his 2022 bid and decide on the party’s future in the NASA coalition.
