Former Lagdera MP Farah Maalim has asked NASA principals Kalonzo Musyoka and Musalia Mudavadi not to have any hopes of being endorsed or supported by Raila Odinga in 2022.Maalim, who unsuccessfully contested for the Garissa Parliamentary seat in last year’s poll, argued that Raila might not support Kalonzo in 2022, basing on last week statement that Deputy President William Ruto cannot win in 2022 without his support.Speaking on NTV AM Live on Monday, Maalim asked Kalonzo to prepare psychologically, as ‘Raila is shopping for a partner in 2022’.He said Raila is a mysterious politician whose steps and actions cannot be predicted.“Basing on what Raila Odinga said last week in regards to DP Ruto’s 2022 bid it is clear that his mind is calculating something and Kalonzo should stop believing that he will be supported,” he said.Maalim said Raila will contest for the presidency in 2022 and could be strategising on how to win back his former political ally William Ruto. The Wiper deputy leader said Raila is an easy going politician who does not hold political grudges for long.Last week, Raila said DP Ruto needs him to win the 2022 presidential election.Raila’s statement has been interpreted by analysts to mean that the former prime minister could be seeking to work with Ruto in 2022.Ruto is expected to fly the Jubilee ticket after President Uhuru Kenyatta’s term expires in 2022.On the other hand, Raila is expected to endorse Kalonzo for the top seat in 2022 as per their 2017 Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
